Ways of Working

Ways of Working

Even though Huddle is not a company yet, we work as if it could become one.

100% Remote

This is a passion-driven project at the moment. People have jobs, families, and lives (also applicable to when this might become a business).

Remote-first enables:

  • A global talent pool and contributors
  • Diverse perspectives
  • Async contribution
  • Better work–life balance

Remote only works well if paired with transparency and documentation.

100% Transparency

We strongly believe in transparency.

Transparency enables:

  • Better async collaboration
  • Easier autonomous work
  • Higher-quality feedback
  • Stronger community trust — especially in gaming communities, and very important in the era of AI where products shoot out the ground

Practically, this means:

  • Public repo (coming soon)
  • Public issues (coming soon)
  • Public roadmap (coming soon)
  • Public decisions and learnings (coming soon)

Autonomous by Default

Autonomy means:

  • You decide what to work on and in what order
  • You don’t need constant approval
  • You can take ideas from concept to implementation without any intervention (in theory)

This facilitates speed and efficiency of building and shipping features for our users extremely well.

However, this only works if:

  • Context is written down
  • Decisions are documented in the open (for public discussions on what and how something is built, although owner of an issue is leading decisions)
  • Contributors have abillity and interest to work on all end-to-end (front-end, design, requirements, backend etc...)
  • Feedback loops with users exist

People build better things when they choose what to build. There's strong believe bringing great full-stack product builders together with right context is a great strategy for a happy org building great products.
